How brand and influencer collaborations and payments work
In this article
Collaborations help a brand and an influencer who have already agreed to work together. You write down the deal, split the payment into milestones, share the live post link and follow the status. The payment goes through a payment gateway such as Razorpay or Stripe. Hirencer and QuinPin LLP never hold the money. The gateway holds, releases and refunds it under its own rules.
Step-by-step
-
The brand creates the collaboration
The brand describes the deliverables and deadline and chooses payment terms, such as 100% upfront, 50% before and 50% after publication, or milestones. Percentages must total 100%.
-
The brand invites the influencer
The influencer gets an email (and a notification if they have an account). A brand can also invite someone from the opt-in influencer directory.
-
The influencer accepts
They complete their influencer profile, accept the Terms and Privacy Policy and accept the collaboration.
-
The brand pays through the gateway
The brand pays the agreed amount plus the platform fee on the gateway page. The collaboration shows Funded only after the gateway confirms the payment.
-
The influencer publishes and submits the link
They post the content and submit the live link, with an optional note.
-
Content is checked
Hirencer checks that the link opens and matches the agreed caption, hashtags and mentions where possible. Unclear results go to manual review.
-
Milestones are released by the gateway
When a milestone’s conditions are met, the gateway releases that part. A timer alone never releases money.
Tips and good to know
- The status has three parts: collaboration status, content verification and payment status. Payment status always comes from the gateway.
- Hirencer does not verify brands, influencers, followers or content legality. Check the other side before you start.
- Use of the feature and payments may not be allowed in every country. Check the rules where you live.
