Applicants and bidders appear in your dashboard. You can review each one, set a status, rate them and message them. Their email addresses and phone numbers stay private for everyone’s safety, so use on-site messages.

Step-by-step

  1. Open your listing

Go to Manage Jobs or Manage Projects in your dashboard.

On mobile: Dashboard pill row: Manage Jobs or Manage Projects.

  2. Open applications or bids

Choose the applications count on a job, or open the bids on a project.

  3. Read each profile

Open the applicant’s freelancer profile and the details of the application or bid.

  4. Set a status and rating

Use Edit to change status (for example New, Interviewed, Offer extended, Hired or Rejected) and add a rating and notes only you can see.

  5. Message the candidate

Choose Message applicant or Send Message, write your message and send. Replies arrive in Messages.

  6. Verify before you commit

Before you hire or pay, check identity, past work and references. See How to hire safely and verify a freelancer.

Tips and good to know

  • There is no CSV export of applicants, because it would expose contact details.
  • Reject politely so candidates are not left waiting.

Frequently asked questions

Can I see an applicant’s email?
